Short bent gouge is used for carving in remote places avoiding touching product surface by the handle. The curved semicircular chisel is suitable also for gouging spoons, cups and other similar objects. Tool is made from durable carbon steel 2mm thickness. It's sharpened and ready to use right from the package. Cutting edge allows to carve both soft and hard wood. Handle material is oak wood finished with linseed oil.

all I needed was this little chisel to complete my project and it was exactly what I needed.

The bent gouge was very sharp and put to use right away. It is excellent for working on spoons with smaller bowls. I used it on already cured and dried cherry. Not partially wet wood as some spoon makers used. I had excellent results.

I use this gouge to hollow out the bowls of the spoons I carve, and so far it has cut cleanly and easily in any wood I have tried it on, hard or soft, green or dry. I occasionally strop it, thinking that I must have dulled the edge by now, but I never have. It just has never lost even a bit of sharpness.
